John Curl say:
The JC-2 was revolutionary for its time. We made more innovations at one time that it became a classic. The JC-80 was a better preamp in principle, BUT the layout guy was a BIG disappointment, and the circuit board isn't very good. The JC-2 used a combination of fets and bipolar devices. The JC-80 used all fets. The JC-80 is the best preamp that I have ever designed.
